    Default Screaming Osprey

This Osprey was getting ready to land. Those talons are really impressive! I cropped out the perch to focus attention on the bird.

Pose, sharpness and exposure look great. Composition weakens this otherwisw awesome image IMO as I feel it should presented as a vertical with more room at the bottom and a lot less on the right.

Great exposure Doug but there are two things in this image that don't work for me.

The crop seems unbalanced with the bird attention being focused down and out of the frame and with the extended wings, that puts the real center of attraction to far to the bottom.

The extended talons are great but the "screaming" portion to me is a bit lost as the HA isn't just right or prominent enough of something...can't quite put my finger on it.

Perhaps it's just that he is looking down and away?

Tack sharp Doug, and you have captured a great landing posture with the raised wings and extended legs and the great show of the talons. Comp wise, I actual thinks this works, as its one of those where more space could be added, but then you leave the subject smaller, to still create the same image size.

Gorgeous wings, awesome talons, great expression. Beautiful BG. A little more landing room would certainly help for me. Maybe as vert.

Hi Doug. Great pose and sharpness. The exposure is right on and the bird stands out well from the background. Here's another vote for more room at the bottom for the bird to move into and maybe a little off the right - about to where your signature begins. Well done.

Super sharp, perfect exposure, dynamic pose and love the talons and the open bill. Very nice contrast with that beautiful green bg.

That is one terrific shot - such detail and timing - exposure etc is optimal. I was 100% happy with the composition because I was so blown away with the detail in the bird but having read the previous comments I think perhaps a little more space beneath the bird would improve an otherwise absolutely brilliant shot.

Superb shot Doug. Those talons are impressive and the open beak adds. I dont have a problem with the composition at all but a vertical could also work. Congrats.

Also wish there was more room on the bottom, but I understand your reason for cropping the perch. I would like to see some of the cropping suggestions others offered.

Love the pose, great stuff as always from you.

Thank you all for the helpful feedback. Good points on composition. I didn't really have any extra room at the bottom of the frame and didn't have time to add canvas. I'll rework the image as per the suggestions above.
