    Default Green butterfly

One of the smallest butterflies in the Netherlands that are active during the day.
They mainly feed on heather and the young green leaves of the birch

Another fine insect image, Carel! Must have been a very cooperative subject for you to get so close with a 100 mm, even with the APS-c sensor. Excellent composition and sweet background, but you may want to consider adding a narrow strip of canvas across the bottom and cloning in BG so the lower leaf doesn't quite touch the edge of the frame.

Simply loved those colours on the wings. A very beautiful looking butterfly this is.
Nicely captured with a smooth bokeh. A very fine composition.
Considering the high shutter speed you had, I might have been tempted to narrow down the aperture to f8 or f11 (to encompass the feelers + top edge of the wings in focus).
    Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful butterfly, very nice colors and details. I think a tighter crop will also work, eliminating the stem shadow and cutting the leaf tips at bottom. Nicely done.

    Hello all
I made the picture with plenty of wind.
therefore difficult to keep everything sharp.
    no tripod, handheld.

Hi Carel. I love the colors of the butterfly. I also like the diagonal comp and clean background. For me, the OOF leaf in the lower right and the OOF tip of the leaf the butterfly is perched on detract from an otherwise strong image. You might consider removing them via cloning or use of a quick mask.

    Hey Carel,
My thoughts covered in the above comments. I do believe you have captured a very nice image so worth trying some of the tweaks to improve this. Thanks for further explaining your technique too.

Hi Carel, Steve covered my thoughts exactly. You've got a nice BG and it should be relatively easy completely clone out the OOF leaf and leaf tip. Also, the clubs on the antennae could use a bit more sharpening. Since I like tight crops, I'd also take a slice off the left. These simple tweaks should make this nice image much stronger.
