    Here is a immature Night heron eating a crab this image made at Flamingo in the Everglades one of those special places in the world.

    40D, 500 f/4, 1/1600 at f/7.1, Aperture priority, Evaluative Metered with + 2/3 compensation, ISO 640, Raw, Cropped and some cloning of grass.

    Nice shooting angle, prey item, eye, angle in frame.

    The image is just a touch bright for my personal tastes.

    Nice behavior shot and the colors are killer. I agree the light is a tad harsh and I think the head at least needs a tad more sharpening. Although it looks as though you may have chosen a pano crop due to the dark spots in the BG, I think it really works here!

    Well done Don!!! It was a " hoot" for us to Shoot these with our canons!!! The crop is different but works nicely, and having beenthere on my belly as well, this crop is truly the way the image was seen! Might be slightly bright as randy stated... Very Sharp!!!
