    Default Elephant collage - 3

This is the 3rd collage I have posted. I don't think that it has the finesse of the zebra but I quite like it and will be interested in whether you think it works or not.
I had cropped off the calf but fortunately my next frame had the calf in full but the mother was not positioned so well. I took the back end of the calf and added it to the base image. In one of those moments when the Gods smile … the extra bit of canvas fitted perfectly so that I didn't need to blend or clone at all. :) Overlaid with a warming filter, night sky and some rough texture from my files. Oh, the elephants had a luminosity mask applied as well. Any comments cheerfully received. :)

Hilary, You are killing with these! I love the color tones and the lighting. It may be a tiny bit tight but I think you did a great job w/ the merge. I think the luminosity was the masters touch! Lovely.

Thank you Denise, it can be hard to be creative and develop your own style so I'm glad these are starting to work. I agree about the tightness and I may be tempted to add l & r canvas but don't want to make a mess of the additions. I'll see what a few more viewpoints are.

Hilary, your images in this style are just amazing. I am loving them all. I agree that a little more space all around would be nice, especially if you are planning on printing and framing this one. I love how the sharpness of the elephants makes them pop from the textured background. Really nice work and thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone, I'll see whether I can make some canvas from some of the other frames taken at the time.

Excellent image, Hilary! Lovely colors and lighting, and the texture work is perfect. Very nice details in the elephants. Besides adding more canvas as the others already suggested, I might lighten it a tad. I also see a dark border around the momma elephant's ear that I would clean up.

I'm loving your style. Keep them coming! :)

Hilary, this is beautiful. The bg looks like a medieval manuscript and the colors and lighting are gorgeous. Really nicely done:)

Here is a re-post with more canvas. I didn't realise it would be so hard to reconstruct more background … I hope it works. I have a little more canvas both sides but I felt this was enough. :o
