    This small (about 1/4 inch) Ambush Bug (Family Reduviidae) was lurking at the edge of a black-eyed susan flower. When I touched the stem, it perked up anticipating that lunch was about to arrive. :) 40D, MP-E 65 mm, 1/100, f/16, ISO 400, macro twin flash (diffused), hand held. NR on background. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

    Nice bug and pose! I like the colors and composition. I'm always amazed by the images taken with that lens!

    Just amazing! I like the framing with the background flower. Great sharpness and overall composition.

    These thing really do look like tiny dinosaurs!
    A perfect angle. I just don't know how you and Vida can get amazing HH shots like this!

    I love these little guys! Nice work getting his entire frame inside the yellow petal. Great concise work with that lens again - super image!

    I not sure if we have any of these little guys in this area of Texas...I've never seen one, but this image looks great to me. The detail on the bug is fantastic!

    Jim, you probably have them there but these things are great at hiding in plain sight because their camouflage is so good. Many times you'll find them because you see their prey.
