    Default Lower Antelope Canyon

A three image HDR taken at +/- 2Ev of Lower Antelope Canyon. While Upper Antelope is the more popular destination especially because of the lightbeams, Lower Antelope offers, in my opinion, more unique compositions and especially now in winter, has better light providing incredible purple hues in the rock.

    This was taken with 5d + 17-40L @ 36mm
    f/16
    ISO 200
    multiple exposures
    ful frame

Nice work Michael. I guess your middle name is going to be "Mr. HDR". You are certainly using it to advantage in a place the begs for it. I like the different colors.

Beautiful image Michael. I agree that Lower Antelope is a much richer photographic locale - plus its kinda neat that you have to climb down into the ground to get to it.

thanks al. I wanted to give one the feeling like they are walking through the canyon. it's pretty narrow at times.

I love the feeling of it closing up on you. Very well done on this. I might do a pass of small radius sharpening to make the texture of the walls pop. Or maybe they already do in the full res.

Unbelievable colours here Michael! Is this real or oversaturated? Either way an eye-catching photo, well done.

your eyes will not see the colors this intense. The HDR process brings out the details especially in the shadows and emphasizes the purples. But heck even a shot with a point and shoot will bring out the colors of the place which are amazing.
