    Hello Meint,

Can you post a 100% crop, the image above looks okay but the small size makes it hard to see any noise.

(just in case: In Photoshop press Crtl+Alt+0 (zero) for actual pixels then use the crop tool and enter 800 pix.)

    Hello Meint,

The noise in the crop is there but it doesnt look unacceptable to me since the dark background tones are underexposed. This type of tone will always show noise so this is normal.

Try to go out when you have time and shoot a middle toned subject in good light and go to maybe 1000-1600 ISO or so. From my experience a properly exposed middle tone 1600 ISO MKIII image will have almost no noise.

While I had the Mark !!!, every time I went over 800, it was very noisy, specially if the light was flat as in your case.

ISO 800 in flat light will give you noise. Warm light will let you get away with higher ISO.

Agree with Fabs on the ISO You need special circumstances for obtaining great images from higher Have seen them but they are not what you normally get !!!
