    Well not quite in my backyard but close enough. I often over look gulls and especially immatures.This was taken early one morning. 50D, 500mm, f/4, EC +1 2/3, ISO1600.

    Nice light and underwing detail. Needed the wings to be in the full up position.... As presented, there is too much dead space at the bottom.

    For most of us a fairly fresh juvenile Glaucous-winged Gull would be a pretty good bird....

    Angle, light and eye contact look very good. Another vote for a tighter crop. Do you have one with the wings all the way up or down?

    Tough crowd :). I actually like the wing position here, reminds me of a hood ornament.

    Wonderful light and very good sharpness and exposure. I agree with the others about a tighter crop.
    I like the wing position as presented.

    Looks better Gulls are interesting subjects and they are all around
