    Default Sparrow ID please

shot in rookery in Dallas. He/She was a part of a group of 4 individuals. From my field guide, I think it is Field Sparrow. eye ring, pink bill and the rufous lines on the face/head. Is it?

I would agree that this looks like a Field Sparrow, juvenile. The black on the chin is a little confusing but I think the bill clinches it.

Thx John. I posted it on our Dallas audubon forum and the expert had the same opinion. The black chin confused her as well.

Kaustubh- Perhaps the dark throat feathers are exposed under-feathers/down.

You must be right John. Now that you mention, that is what it looks like

I just wanted to compliment you on a really nice composition of this sparrrow! I always have to look through several field guides, trying to ID sparrows, and can still be confused, but your image is super!
