    Hi Stephen, I like the idea but I agree with Macro that for this to work for me I would need to be able to tell that it is an elephant without being told.

    Pretty cool 'background'. I like the eye contact and angle and might give it a bit more room at the bottom.

    I was able to tell it was an elephant without any help, but I think you could lighten the deepest shadows, and perhaps darken the eye a bit (all on the elephant, not the bird!). Having said this, stopping down more would have been a good idea too. A very African feel to the image...I like the concept alot.
