    Default Resizing

I have what I think is a simple question. I was told that after cropping an image I should resize it to a size close to what I might print it as in case in the future I want to print it. then do the remainder of the post processing.

Is it necessary to resize and if so at what point in the process?

If you do resize it should you resample the image?

Thanks in advance for your answers and suggestions.

I process for a "finished" Tif file at the original size or as I feel it should be cropped. I never process for a fixed print size until I actually want to print the image. I will only keep a print file for a specific size if I anticipate making several prints at that size over time.

    Ray,

I process my images during conversion to produce a 240 PPI resolution. I do the remainder of my PS'ing at this resolution and save the layered tiff file. FOr printing I go to 360 ppi and the document size I wish to print and for JPEG 72 ppi and that size.

BTW: I rarely crop the original. I crop for final output.
