I am going to Los Angeles, Ca. end of April and was wondering if there is anything close to photograph Eagles - I have one day to play. If not what would one suggest given only 1 day?

I would second Bolsa Chica. My knowledge of LA is limited as I l iive in Nor Cal. I was in LA last June. Ok not April but I was really impressed with the amount of bird life there. I got some great skimmer images from one of the walkways.
Depending on if they are there, some awsome opportunities on white pelicans happen at the Sepulveda Basin such as this image. Several other species, but bolsa is a better bet for consistency.
