For the first time, I used a 7D on a trip. This is one of the shots. I was pleased to find that many of the flight shots held focus even with strong backgrounds. This booby flew conveniently against the blue sky.
Eastern Island, Midway Atoll. The leading edge on he far wing is hot, but I am pleased with the rest of the image.
It was a pleasure to be on the trip with Artie.

    Steve:

Excellent colors in the lores and feet. Sharp and well exposed.

I wish the head was a bit more towards us and didn't merge with the wing. A frame with wing full up might have eliminated the merge.

Because he is climbing, I might add a bit of space to the right and up (just a bit)

A bit of fill flash to open up the shadows under the wings and body would have been nice.

Hope to see more from your trip.

    Cheers

    Randy

Good-looking specimen, are these breeding colors? Do you have an image in this series with wings up or down? Dialing in a bit positive EC might have helped.
