    This bloke was sitting on a picnic table at Pebbly Beach NSW so went for a portrait.

    Canon 7D, EF70-200 f/4 IS @ 185mm, handheld, ISO800, 1/60, f/8, cropped for composition.

    Very nice portrait, I like the soft light, head angle, details and BG. I might sharpen the beak a bit more and run NR on the BG.

    Amazing colours Simon, and just enough space around the head for the comp. Lovely eye.

    Gorgeous color and great eye contact. I agree with Axel's suggestions regarding BG noise and beak sharpening. The only birds you get at the picnic table where I live are pigeons and house sparrows!

    Thank you for your comments Axel, Stuart and Doug. Here is a revised version with neat image NR applied to background and the bill selectively sharpened and NR'd a little.
