It was getting late in the day and a lovely golden sunset. this Ruddy Duck came swimming by. I lay on the ground and photographed through the guard rail..capturing a decent reflection and bird. To bad he didn't have a blue bill. Thisis the closest I've been to one of these ducks.....up here the closest we can get to one of these guys is a few 100 yards...

Very mice image with complimentary background. Glad the reflection stayed togerther. If there is any room, including some more background behind the duck might look even better.

Good HA Paul, and I like the droplets on the back. Interesting texture on the water, with a lovely colour. I feel this needs a slight CCW rotation.

Sweet water, good head angle. I agree about the CCW rotation. I would like to see some more room behind him.

As you say, sweet Paul! It looks like you held the whites in the cheek area, which must be a challenge. I agree a CCW rotation would straighten the water up. Also looks like a good candidate for practice in adding some canvas to the rear.

Thanks for all the input, Folks...
In the original above I tried hard not to centre the duck.
    Re-worked, re-sized...rotated.
How was the trip down here John, did you guys get out anywhere?
