I like the detail in the bird and the eye contact is very nice. You did very well getting the detail for the harsh light.
Is this a younger eagle? I ask because of the down.
The background is a bit busy for me (a vignette blur filter in NIK software could smooth out the background if you wanted to do so - there is probably something like that in photoshop as well).

You did pretty good considering the light. Gorgeous bird, compo very nice also and great detail. Perfect head angle and nice catch light. Way to go, now all you have to do is get up earlier ;) :)
