Brian, this works for me as an environmental shot. I like the position of the birds in the frame and how they are both looking the same way.
I like habitat images, nice to have two birds in the frame, too. I only wish the angle were less steep and the setting a little less busy.
This is a tough shot, with the distance between the birds and crossing of the branches in between them. I think you did a great job with what you had to work with though.
