Another shot taken along the White Dome Trail in Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.
Again, I used Photomatix Pro to convert the single raw file into a pseudo HDR. Cleaned up some pots and added a ND Grad later in Nik Color Efx 3.0 onto the sky area
Image was taken with 5d and 17-40L at 35mm
ISO 200
f/9.1
1/50 second
thin polarizer
full frame
loaded converted tif into lightroom; final processing in ps cs 3.
It's been a while since I have been here. I like this image a lot. The post processing work is great. Dynamic range and saturation really convey the beauty of the area.
Very nice colors. The striations on the lower and mid left lead you into the view. The sky contrasts perfectly. Since I have not been there it's hard to get a sense of scale but I imagine it's big !
Excellent Mike !!! Love the composition and the extracted dynamic range from the image Never been there so don't know how close is the sky color? To me looks like a very saturated blue !!! Big Congrats !!!
The striations lead the eye into the image and the colors are great. I have one nit, the sky has two colors. Partially due to the polarizer but to it it looks funny.
