    Default Bald Eagle

I have started photographing wildlife last June. And finally got found a few spots to shoot some eagles.
This is one of a few earliest eagle shots that I have, from late 2009. It was shot with 200-400 f/4, handheld.
Love to hear your critique on this shot of the bald eagle.

Certainly looks like you have gotten the hang of it already. This looks as sharp as they come.

    Can you share the techs?

Can't work out if the eagle is too centred or not but I will wait to see further comments as I am no expert.

Very nice pose, sharpness and background. I would crop a little top and right, but there is not a lot of room.

I would post those details each time if yo have them.

    Keep them coming.

Can I ask where you captured this?

Hi - Yes always post your full tech details with each shot - helps everyone see what you are doing.

A big warm welcome to the BPN Family - Lovely first post.
Lots to like here - Good HA, outstretched wings look good, exposure looks spot on and inclusion of prey in the talons. All on the money.
    Might crop as suggested above.
    Fine image!!!

Great shot with very good details and excellent pose and action. I don't see any need for a crop, as that would make it too tight in the frame (perhaps you cropped and reposted already?). I'd suggest lightening the shadows if there is no noise. Also make your copyright less intrusive. Wonderful first post.

Excellent details and pose love the sharpness, agree with raising the shadows a tad. Excellent work, TFS

    Hi Troy:

I like the crop as is...although I appear to be seeing the edited version. I love the BG here and the clouds are a nice touch. You have great HA (head angle), nice fanned tail and the food in talons is a huge plus. The only thing I wish for here, and what we wish for is not always possible, would be to see more details in one of the underwings.

Congratulations on this photograph and welcome to BPN. I look forward to seeing you out in the field.

    Marina

It started off cloudy and the day got better. I was lucky to have blue and cloudy sky.
What do you mean by edited version?

I saw where you wrote that you did a re-edit, so I thought you may have made some changes and reposted the picture with changes.

Oh not. I re-edited and lightened the darker wing. It looks better. ;)

Wonderful first post. Congratulations! Head angle, wing spread, fanned tail and food in the talons are perfect, and image is nicely sharp. Only drawback is the underwing in shadow, as others have noted. Pretty tough to get everything working for you all the time. Very nicely done! Its a matter of personal taste, but I agree that the watermark is a bit overwhelming.

Thank you Bill, as for watermark, I will always have that put on on all my work, it is just a protection.
