Had overcast skies last Sunday afternoon in Big Cypress but I didn't mind as I managed to find and photograph this Barred Owl at 1:30 in the afternoon off the loop road. It's just amazing how these guys blend into the branches.

I am always a fan of owls. I like the exposure and HA, but it would be stronger if it weren't such a high angle and if the bird was looking at the camera. I think finding owls is half the battle because of their incredible ability to melt into their surroundings.
Great catch, since owl sleep during the day - its great you got the eyes open. I like the angle, but I guess it all come down to personal taste. It just seems more real to me, since most owls hide in high places during the day.
