This cisticola's territory included a large patch of phragmites and it used this higher than most stems from which to advertise its presence. Could have cropped in close but I liked the sense of this tiny bird above a sea of reeds.

Nice bird (I love cisticolas!) in very cool pose. I agree with the sense of its small size; maybe in this case I would have used more DOF to give a hint of the reed around him.
Very nice image, I don't think I would worry about the size of the bird in the frame but I might crop it to move the bird higher in the frame and perhaps a bit closer to the right edge .. love the soft pastel colouring.
Love the composition and agree that it would not have been as effective with a closer crop. Great pose, great head angle and wonderfully subtle background.
These little dudes have SOOOO much attitude. I was watching some yesterday near my home in a swamp. Well done with the overall presentation, I would also crop from top and right to place the bird on the upper-right ROT point.
