I took this picture a few weeks back at Presquille P.P. Ontario.
The Owl looks right into the barrel.
I enlarged the eye area and will post it as a comment if I'm allowed.
It looks amazing the way the blue sky and the trees are reflected in the eyes IMO.

The light was soft which helps a lot, but do wish it was a bit more behind you to light up the facial disc equally.
Sharp, well exposed, the snow adds a lot. I might consider reducing the luminosity of the light spots in the background, including the RUC.
By all means, since the facial disk is part of the same image, post it.
Good find, I also like the angle, eye contact, BG and snow on the branch. I might sharpen the owl a bit more and don't see a problem if you reply to your thread and post a closeup of the head.
I like this a lot Karl. I'd probably just crop a little more from the left side. Maybe lighten the face a touch? really nice with the snow on the perch too.
Terrific details and thanks for allow us to enjoy those amazingly sharp eyes at 100%. I like the intense stare of the owl, the mood of the scene and the simple composition. Well done
Karl, I like the soft light and eye contact, and just love the snow on the top of the perch. Your repost showing the reflection in the eyes is just fantastic. Well done.
