    Default another accipter

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
    Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1600)
    Aperture: f/5.6
    Focal Length: 400 mm
    ISO Speed: 400
    Exposure Bias: 0 EV
    Flash: On, Fired

    juvenile accipter (immature coopers hawk)

I had posted a photo of this exact bird as my first BPN post and a lot of the comments were about a busy perch and the fact the birds beak was lost in the neck. Luckily I was able to find a photo where I could fix the perch which I cloned some that were on the bottom. Hopefully its not as busy now. I also bumped up the saturation on the eye to give it some extra punch. I would like to see what else I might be able to do with this image

Very well taken shot, very sharp with great detail. I like the HA and the stare. The perch would be better if a single branch but this is ok. The composition with the placement of the bird is very good. The bg is serves the purpose very well. Nicely done Peter.

Thanks, I would remove more branches but the perch would look a bit unnatural (at least with my cloning skills)

I like this. Lovely light, pose, colours and eye contact. I won't get rid of any branch as it looks fine and natural to me. Would apply another round of sharpening on the bird.

Thank you, I had run the sharpening brush over the head about 10 times as well as some selective sharpening, I'm not sure if it might be due to the web that its losing detail but I will try and go back at it again.

Very nice pose and great detail, the branch divides nicely and doesn't bother me at all. well done
