In Cape Town in summer, the sun only sets at 19.50pm, so one can easy shoot long into the evening with good light. This was taken at 18.30, and back home it would have been getting fairly dark. I liked the light and sharpness in this. Taken at a birding spot in Cape Town.

Sharpness, angle and eye contact look good. I wish the far wing were further down for better head/wing separation. Maybe a tad more canvas at the top?

    Stuart:

A striking bird, good techs, pose mentioned by Axel.

I am not quite sure what is going on in the foreground. The blurring looks a bit odd, and has spilled onto the near wing primary feathers a bit.

Was there vegetation in the way?

Terrific sharpness and nice exposure. I wish we had light like that in the New Mexico winter; more like 4:45 pm for us. Agree with Axel and Randy regarding canvas and blurring.

Axel, Randy, Doug, thanks a stack for the feedback. I agree there is a bit of spill on the wing tips. Gotta slow down with my pp work.

Hey Stu, Sharpness on the bird very good and pops nicely from the BG. Overall a very pleasing image.

Very nice pose and sharpness, Stuart. Blur would look better on a BG selection rather than vignetted as it seems to be. Looks like you had a good trip - Cape summer evenings are hard to beat when the weather is right.

    Hey Stuart,
An interesting looking bird. Nice detail, color, and angle. I like the greenish sheen on the wing tips.

Looks great Stu! What the heck did you do with your PP to this otherwise fabulous image bro? Could you post the original for comparison? Love the feather detail!
