Image Captured in St. Augustine with MkIIN and 100-400L IS at 400mm, 1/125 at f9, ISO 400. This image is 92% of the original frame, cropped very slightly off the bottom and right to improve composition. The bird was perched at the top of a tree, so I was able to get low for a clear background, shooting from the boardwalk at the alligator farm rookery. PP: Mild shadow/highlight adjustment to bring out the detail in the black feathers, and lightened a couple slightly darker streaks in the background above the bird that were probably distant tree branches, then smoothed out. Comments and suggestions welcome...

Reason: spelling typo
Love the sharpness, BG, and composition. Would only like to see a little more DOF, but from your settings, it doesn't look like you had a ton of available light.
wow, lovely details & black regions have indeed been well exposed. i guess pulling up the dark regions have introduced a wee bit of noise near the abdomen/tail.
that apart, an excellent image...
