I was on Arash's website recently and noticed an image of his pimped out desktop computer.
It motivated me to photograph mine.

This is a home made PC.

• CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 rated @ 2.83GHz Over-Clocked to 4.03GHz
• Motherboard Asus P5E3 Premium X48 Chipset
• Memory 8GB OCZ DDR3
• Video Card Nvidea 8800 GTS OC 640MB Memory
• Power Supply Antec 1000 Watt TruePower Quattro
• Case CoolerMaster Cosmos
• Storage 1) SATA CD/DVD, 2) 290GB Raid 0 Arrays, 2) 1TB eSATA

Water cooled via dual radiators. 120x38mm fans mounted between radiators.
I am running this as a parallel cooling system, cooled water always hits the CPU, Video Card and Memory.
Water warmed by one component never runs to another.

When I'm extreme(you know 4GHz) I can attach duct work from the AC vent to the top of my radiators.
I've had the machine OC to 4GHz and the core temps were lower than ambient.

Very cool, James. Since I moved to Mac , I missed the technical part of playing with computers. I've just orderd the bits to build one with my son during the holidays and really looking forward to it - definitely not as flash as this though:D

I am going to increase memory to 12GB (3X4GB) soon, memory prices are super low now!!!

Photo-editing sw: Canon DPP 3.7, Nikon Capture NX2, PS CS7 and Lightroom (which I no longer use), Neat Image for NR and PTGui for panoramas! This is why I still use a PC :D

BTW, Does NX2 run smoothly on your machine? I still sometimes get this stupid "engine cannot continue" messages, not sure if it a bug in 64Bit Windows or because of RAID, it's annoying...

Lol that's from a LEGO set, I use it to make simple robots...good for when the birds aren't around ;)

Hey James,

CPU temp (room temperature at 69F) is about 40-42C idle and goes 60-65C at full load (prime95 or Intel Burn test can reach 70C) with fan @ 2200rpm. Sometimes I turn on the air con in the room (in winter :eek:) too cool things off a little bit :D

GPU temps are 43-47 idle and can reach 78C under heavy load (Crysis, WIC or CUDA stuff)
I am thinking about getting one of these which is roomier and better thermal design than my CM Stalker.


BTW, did you see my email about 300VR+TC, what is your recommendation?
