Wow, great catch! I love the pose and wing position, composition, action and background.
I may be mistaken, but I notice some traces of oversharpening under the wing.

Nice wings up pose, just wish it wasn't flying away from you. A few PP artefacts are visible, such as cloning marks above and below the tail (and a few more here and there along the frame's edges). The primaries also look cut-out from post-processing. Bird looks overly NR'd. Thanks for sharing this very colourful fella with a bonus meal!

Great timing, posture & BG. Catch a bonus. Ditto Loukie on detail & also a halo around the bird?

Not sure if you intended to but you have reduced the SAT of the REDs on the neck, throat and breast and that is a huge improvement as they were over-SATURATED in Pane #1. The major flaw that keeps this from being a contest winner is the fact that the bird was angling slightly away from you; this has caused the face to go dark.

IAC, a remarkable capture. And the repost is far better overall.

The repost looks great and a vast improvment.

I much prefer the original. I don't see any noticeable halo, colours are much nicer and natural IMO and composition is nicer as in the repost you cropped off the right. I do see the issue with the primaries though. I think this is an award winning capture for sure. Congratulations!

One of my favorite African birds Jan, well timed. Have found you need SS of 1/2500+ to get complete wing freeze with these guys, also your reds are still a little over saturated. Lovely in flight image nonetheless.

Wonderful bird. Love the fact that you were able to capture it with its pray. I agree about the bird been flying away and a bit over sat. but the repost looks better.
