    Default White Egret

    White Egret, Ft DeSoto Florida

Finally made it back to NY late last night. Still waiting for our luggage but I just got a call that it was on it's way and they will bring it over. Hope everything is in there but most of my camera gear was in my carryon...tripod, etc is in the luggage.

Anyway, I made this image while out with Maxis in the sweet light at Ft Desoto. Thanks to all the folks who we met, chatted with and e-mailed us while in Florida, I hope when you come to NY I can return the favor!

    Nikon D3, 600VR, x1.4, ISO 400, f8, 1/800, Gitzo 3530, Wimberley Head II

"Say Ahhhh!" Very nice, and great timing to get the tongue out like that.

Very nice George. Here is one where had you been right on the sun angle (heck, you were close), the little shrimp would have been lost and you would not have had the nice angle on the open bill.

It was nice meeting you - glad you got some excellent shots while you were down here, this one included. No nits. Beautiful light and captured at the height of the action.

    Peace.

The open beak, tongue, eye contact and sweet light, great reflection. A perfect way to end the trip.

Great work, George. Artie makes a very good point. I like the action and the low angle you chose to make this image. There are a couple dust spots to the right of the egret that I've get rid of ;)
