    Hi Larry Welcome to BPN !! First let me say you have captured one of my favorite species. From what I see you were working with some pretty harsh light and perhaps this was taken closer to mid day when the sun is higher. The reason I say this is that the whites on the back close to the neck look hot on my monitor but I very much like your timing in this image and to have the avocet with a fish in it's beak is a real bonus. One other obeservation would be if it is possible to get down on a lower level so you are even with the eye it would even further strengthen this image. Thanks for posting Larry and will look forward to future posts.
