Can anyone elaborate as how this pix was captured?
Camera, lens, aperture, filters or aids? HDR, straight long EXP?

You did say WILD guess so here goes. Nikon FX body (D3?) with 14-24mm f/2.8 which would most likely preclude the use of filters. If the lens was a 24-70 it had to be very near 24mm but this looks a bit too wide for that, especially since this appears to be cropped on the side(s). OR given an aspect ratio close to 4:3 possibly a G10 or G11?

Have no clue, but I will make a wild dumb guess and say that it is an HDR made to look natural.....

My guess would be two images stacked together. One exposure for the far mountains and sky and one of the trees, lake and foreground.

Oh boy it is just a guess. It looks like it is pretty blue so I guess mid morning; everything seems to be in focus, foreground through to mountains so a stopped down lens; mountains look closer than perhaps they are so a 70/200 VR and Nikon camera. It is an out and out guess but a very nice photo. Dave

My guess would have been late/evening with a high ISO.......but a little birdie told me I would have been wrong!:D

The mountains are not clear because of the three fires going on and the smoke.

This is an iPhone image. Got quite a few to share with friends from location. All you need to do is frame well :)
