    Detail is pretty good considering the heavy crop and use of a 2x. Too bad you couldn't crop out the wood beam; at the very least you could darken it a bit. For better sharpness I'd consider stopping down when using a 2x; it looks like you had more than enough light.

    I would have considered cropping the wood plataform. Nice light and colors. I am not really crazy about the bird's pose. Congratulaitons.

    I not only considered it; I did crop it out and the image looked terrible. It looked like the bird was sitting on the frame of the picture. So I went back and left it partially in.

    I see, and I understand that cropping it would've left too little room at the bottom.

    Ed, Nice details esp. for the large crop as noted. I like the fluffed up feathers and the BG color. Not fond of the wood platform.
