This is my first posting. Hope I did it right. Just returned from Bosque. This was with the 500 mm on the 1 D Mark II. I guess you'll criticize the shadows under the wings ,but I still like the image.

Hi Jim, Hi, Fabs, Hi Artie! Congratulations on the new venture.

Hey, I know that name!!!! :)

Big welcome, Susan, glad you made it!

I like your idea very much. The only things that bother me are the light angle and the busy lower edge.
If it's OK with your ethics, try to get rid of the partial birds at the bottom and left. otherwise, try a different crop to minimize the clutter.

Love those little OOF in the top of the image, clever!

Welcome, Susan. I like the approach and think Fabs' suggestions make sense. Please have a look at the posting guidelines. Images shouldn't exceed 750 pixels on the longest side unless they are pano shots.

When I uploaded the guidelines instructed 1024 on the long side. I'm sorry if I erred.

No problem. Do you remember where you read it? Maybe there is some wrong information somewhere.

    Wonderful first post Susan!

Images should not exceed 150 kilobytes nor should they exceed 750 pixels on the longest side. Panoramic images may be up to 1024 pixels on the longest side, 450 pixels on the shorter side.

The image would have to be a panorama to qualify for the 1024 on the long side, Susan.
