inspired by the recent flower images in the forum, I decided to take another shot at this and cropping to only part of the blossom.
what do you think?

I know the green overlaps into the white, reflection I guess. But how do you clear that up? _Should_ you clear that up???
Hi Cheryl I like the off-center composition - very dramatic
Gail
Center of rotation is just perfectly positioned Appealing, simple and just beautiful I like it as presented !!! Big Congrats !!!
A beautiful image. I like the top view with the rotation shape. I also the DOF here, the out of focus petals add to the image. I would leave the green overlap with white as it is. I also like the off center position, but I would play around with different crop, maybe a little off the bottom and left. Might also try a tiny bit of noise reduction in the back ground and see what happen.
Hi Cheryl, personally I wouldn't change a thing. I like it a lot and call it a keeper!
I like this alot, beautiful detail on the edges of the center and I like the subtle purple. Crop loots great.
Very nice shot, Cheryl. Like the petals rotating out of the center and the contrast between the flower and dark BG. For some reason the crop doesn't quite appeal to me. I think I would crop off the left side just before the downward-curving petal making it into a vertical. Just my opinion!
Cheryl, very nice. I love the subject. Congrats!!!
Very nice Cheryl!! The composition is spot on and I love the two different "wraps" to the flower. As for your question, you are the artist - it's your call! Very appealing as is and I wouldn't change a thing!

I like a lot the feeling of rotation. I like the image as it is.
This is not even a suggestion, but I was wondering if positioning the rotation center to the left will give the feel of moving up. But don't know if the petals on the right were in good shape.
For me this is a very good subject and a great image and it could give the feeling of moving upwards or downwards depending on the positioning of the center of rotation.
Just want to add: "I have nothing to add." Congrats ! :)
Late to this one - server upgrade must have been playing havoc with my ability to connect.
Like it a lot Cheryl - Congrats :)
It is so beautiful!!!
Cheryl, I'm no expert, but I really like this. What kind of flower is it? It's really beautifully presented. Michelle
Thank you, everyone. I appreciate your comments.
Michelle, this is a moonflower.
Cheryl
Very well seen, I love the geometry of it. Did you get any photos after it completed blooming?
Bill
William,
Thank you. Yes I did get photos of it after it completed opening. This plant is actually a cross between the regular Moonflower (Datura) and its cousin (Brugmansia), the tree form of "Angel Trumpet". The left photo below is what the blossom looks like immediately after opening, looking more like the the mother plant which was in this case, the Moonflower. The second photo is how the blossom looks the next morning, showing more characteristics of the Brugmansia--the most obvious being the folded back petals and the longer peaks at the 5 tips of the blossom as well as the fabulous scent of the Brugmansia.
HI Cheryl....very artistic rendering of a pre bloom.....great thoughtful composition. you have inspired me to plant some of these next year
Hi Cheryl,
I like it as is...well composed and executed...the black background makes your lady pop...
Thank you, Gus
Dark BG works well and white center in a circular mode - original - well done
