From the north looking toward downtown. Fireworks were directly behind the capitol dome.

    D700, Nikon 500 f/4

    1/8. f/4, ISO 800

Tripod mount with Sidekick, top weight and remote trigger

was on the roof of a parking garage so there was still some shake at times

Very nice juxtaposition to get the capitol and top of the bank building in the shot.

    Hi Mack,
The capitol building looks sharp but the fireworks llok a bit soft.....but could be because of exposure. I have debated the right side for quite some time and feel that the image would benefit from the total removal of the tower and that side giving the dome and the burst more prominance. I would definitely eliminate the row of lights on the bottom then too......but if you have more space there......adding it back in may work also.

Wow... I love the composition of this image. We didn't have any fireworks near where I live (in TX) due to the drought. I'm glad to see someone had some. A few thousand acres burned near Columbus, TX (close to home but far enough away to be safe) on 7/4...
