    I think this works out very well Mitchell. The trees form a good frame for the flow of the clouds caused by the slow shutter speed. The motion in the trees also adds to the appeal. You minimized the ground - which is good - to provide support to the image and maximized the sky and clouds.

    Hi Mitchell,
    This does have a nice feel to it even with the OOF tree parts Because as Robert mentioned.....they form a nice framing element. Are the colors from sunset?.....or just the glow over the long exposure? In any case works well for the reasons Robert mentioned.

    Everything has been said. But I must repeat, that the sky is really beautiful.
    Hope you post the exposure information, as I want to know if my guesses are true.

    Love everything about this, especially the bit of fog on the water. I would lose the lights....

    Thanks very much everyone, much appreciated. Arthur I was contemplating losing those lights so thanks for an additional push to do it :) 136 seconds @ f/8 on a very cold evening.
