    Hope this qualifies for macro......400mm f/5.6L, ISO 800, 1/160, f/8
Shot on beanbag at a distance greater than 12 ft(MFD is 12')
I do these often with acceptable success while sitting out on bird watch.

Thanks for looking in and any c/c

Counts in my book:) Lovely image of a Four Spotted Pennant with a nice BG and wing detail.

Beautifully done, Dave! The blue is downright irridescent! Lovely exposure and BG.

    Dave,

This is a very beautiful image IMO. Really like details and color of the dfly.
The color of the snag looks different to me. May be my eyes.

    Truly outstanding image....

Hey Dave, no suggestions here, looks like you nailed the details, colors and BG.

Like the image. I use my 300mm for "macro" and enjoy the results. Just have to move out a little, as you note. But sometimes bees and other critters are better shot that way!

Now if you liquified that image! ;)
