Heermann's Gull Larus heermanni
La Jolla- this morning
After shooting the Pelicans, I threw some bread and got the gulls up in the air and of course the shutters clicking. So fun. Cropped 25%.

Top notch and absolutely gorgeous :)
Big congrats ;)
Excellent image, Mike. Great banking pose, exposure control, details and BG.
Hey.....Mike:)
Ohhhhhhh.....now this is sweet. What a gorgeous bird.....love the complete view of the topside and those bright colors. Glad to see you posting.....and with such a good looking gull!!!
Outstanding image! Excellent exposure, compositon, and background. You've got a dust spot where the top wing bends.
Look in the dictionary under "Heermann's gull" and **bing** there's your shot. Well done Mike.
excellent pose and great background. Perfect eye contact. a+ image.
Terrific--perfect!
I love this picture.
Oh Baby! I cant imagine a better flight shot of this species. Well done!
Phil stole my line! Perfect in every way. My only nit is that Al wasn't in the picture.:p
Cool image mike. The light is perfect.
I would crop a little looser, also normally you would like to see more space on the bottom, lastly I see some halos around the head.
Great topside with gobs of detail! Love the BG colours also.
I love everything about this one !!!! Excellent detail and bg !!!! Big Congrats Mike !!!!
This is as good as it gets. Fantastic. A great head position and a perfect pose. A bit more room would make it even better. Any bread involved in the image capture?
later and love,

sweet flight shot., well done.
That's the most attractive gull I've ever seen. Really beautiful image. My immediate impression was that it is cropped a bit tight but I'm almost embarrassed to suggest that after all the previous feedback. If those folks don't think it needs more room, it must be A-ok! Great post.
That's a beautiful looking Gull. He's lucky he flies very high.... ;)
Great details and BG!!!
