Oh boo hiss Glenn..Really would love an opportunity with one of those guys:D

Interesting perch! Good detail, whites look a bit hot, but a real easy fix. Personally don't see much except normal post on this one..Nice!

hi glenn, nicely done. i would have still tried to move the AF point to the left and put the bird in the left of the frame to give it room to look into. minor, but a thought to consider.

Colours look good Glenn and nice and sharp. Harold brings up a good point. Sometimes hard to do if your subject is moving around to try and change the AF point.

Glenn, Don't think I've ever seen a photo of a pileated that wasn't on a tree trunk before. Nice sharp bird against a nice blurred BG. Agree that it would look even better with the bird a little more to the left. Nice job!

    A fine capture indeed Glenn,
I like the background, and the color rendition on the bird...would run a pass of noise reduction...good show...

Hi glenn -nice SOC - not a lot to do in pp here - like it a lot. Just some sharpening and some work on the eye.
    Goo job :)

Thanks for all your kind words and suggestions all is noted .The tree he was on was Sumac it grows all over the place here , he had eaten quite a bit of sumac by the time i caught up with him, there was barely any left in this patch. Just wished i would have used one of the side sensors for focus then i would have had more space to the right.
