This Eagle let me drive right up to it. I took this picture 1/25/2008.
I would tell you more aboout the camera settings but I was little
    busy taking the picture.
    I used a Canon 20D with a 100-400IS lens.
Please let me know what you think of the picture. This is my first post.
    Thanks Kevin

I can just imagine your excitment when you got so close to this gorgeous bald eagle. Good exposure as there are no blownout whites but I do find the image to be a little soft and perhaps using curves to bring out a little more detail as it appears a little flat.
The lighting looks like it was not the most favorable but you did well to capture this and thanks so much for sharing Kevin.

Hi Kevin, and Welcome to BPN!

It is a wonderful experience getting so close to these magnificent birds. You did a good job with your framing - keeping the eagle out of the center- and the pose is nice with a good head angle. As Judy mentioned, the image is not as sharp as it should be. The busy bg with all the tree branches, most especially those in front of the birds body are distracting, but there was nothing you could do about that. Look forward to seeing more of your images!

Thank you Judy and Linda for your advise.
I had the IS on, but getting this close had me shaking more than lens could handle.
