Paul, it's been quite a while since I've been there in person. In January there were quite a few opportunities for photographing Snowy Egrets, Tricolored Herons, Black-crowned Night Herons, and Purple Gallinule...including lots of flight images. I haven't heard any recent updates on the Red-shouldered Hawk nest near the visitor center either. Wish I had more information for you, but please let us know if you do visit!
I was there two weeks ago and the activity has decreased from my previous visit, like a month before. There were still Green Herons flying around and an occasional Tri-colored fishing, Hawks are active and bringing food to nest. On the way out though, I will be there tomorrow with a class and will report here.
