    Beautiful walking pose, and I like the wind-ruffled feathers. I think cropping at left to about where the ground starts to taper down would be nice as the comp would be strenghtened, IMO, with said ground becoming complete from edge to edge (and this would also place the egret favorably closer to the left). The light coming a bit from right has put a faint bit of shadow on the face - perhaps some selectively dodging would help there. I would also look to see if there is some detail to recover in the brightest area of the back. I love the open space in front and uncluttered BG, very nice!!

    Nice egret, and agree about the fun pose, wind ruffled feathers and the very top of the back being a bit hot on my monitor.

    I was orginally going to suggest cropping a bit on the right, perhaps to where the stump angles up, but in retrospect, I prefer Daniels idea for a modest crop on left, with maybe a tiny bit on the right.
