    This Pelican had to get everything "just right" to land on the loading dock. D2x plus 80-200 f2.8 lens at 200mm. ISO at 400, 1/3200 @ f4.5, hand-held. I had to crop this really tight while creating the image, to avoid including some very distracting background clutter. Also had to clone out some of the same clutter in PS. This was taken in a very public area at Goose Island State Park, Texas.

    You have a pretty nice front view of him landing. The image is sharp, well exposed and has some nice detail. I would give him a little more room on the bottom "for a landing spot". That would make it a vertical that would continue to avoid the cluttered BG. A less distracting BG would be nice and give you more of an image to choose your crop. Perhaps you could look around and see if you can get a different angle to avoid some of the clutter.
