Accidentally scared him away from his stake-out at a tidal flow pipe feeding a marsh at Plum Island, MA. (Parker River National Wildlife Refuge)

This shot, is him on his the way back to his stake-out. Courteously flying by at eye level for me.

Was it worth the many mosquito bites?

    Thoughts?

I like the heron's pose in mid-flight and the blurred water in the background, but I do find the land area somewhat distracting. You left some room ahead of the bird which is good but a landscape frame would have balanced the image better and lessened the impact of the green area. Good work

Hi Shawn I like the bird a lot but not crazy about the selected crop

Worth the effort for sure If this is a converted horizontal would re crop leaving some room up front !!!

I like the pose and think a horizontal crop would work better. You can post images up to 800 pixels. It would be easier to comment on it that way.
