Typing lag

When I type a post, the letters appear very slowly, one or two seconds per letter. It can take several minutes for a message of a couple of dozen words to appear. Does this happen to everybody or is it just me? It's quite annoying.

It took a minute or two for the above paragraph to appear, letter by letter, in the text window.

:confused: Is there anything I can do to eliminate this typing lag?

Which OS and which browser? I've heard of people reporting similiar problems on Macs with Mozilla based browsers and their add-ons.

Does it happen in the quick reply window, the regular advanced editing section or both?

I've had the same thing happen with just about every browser known on both PC and Mac machines. I think it is a local problem that causes the computer to slow down rather than something related to the site.

I'm using Firefox on a PC. I haven't tried IE. As I type this, it seems to work normally.
