It had pinkish legs, so I believe is a first year bird.

I'll agree with you for a first year bird and given the time of year we can say first winter. Plus with the strong two-tone bill and a gray mantle already visible, I would call it (1st winter) Ring-billed Gull. Nice shot to show field marks.
