    Default Stream | Les Brenets

Made this image a week back in Les Brenets - Switzerland. It was snowing most of the time. On the last day of my trip, the sky opened up & there was some decent light.

I tried a monotone on the image: converted to B&W first & then added a blue filter to give a cool mood.

    Techs:
    Nikon D70s + Nikkor 18-70mm @ 62mm
    f/29, 0.6sec, ISO200

    Critiques welcome...

    Hi Kaushik,
I like the way the river flows through the forest with both the left shoreline and rocks on the right balancing nicely. I am on my laptop right now.....so not 100% sure....but the shadow areas appear a bit muddy?? Let's see what others have to say on this.....otherwise very nicely composed of a really nice winter scene. I like the addition of the blue too.

Kaushik, I really like this winter comp, with the laciness of the trees, and the smooth flow of the river. Cool tone was a good idea here. I'm not really seeing the muddiness Roman sees -- but it looks like a hint more blacks or contrast could still work.

I think Bruce nailed it, just a bit more contrast and/or black in the blacks.

Comp good for the reasons covered.

great comp Kaushik, like the blue filter and the water going though the rapids is nice.
