    Looking at this image first thing that came into my mind is the empty space around the frame. Its considerably large and giving a sense of emptiness. I would crop it and go for a vertical composition. Second thing is the twig and the harsh shadow. I would have moved to left if possible and try to get a clean image.

    Nice well controlled exposure.

    Good exposure on this guy, and beautiful breeding plumage. Definitely needs less space at right. The shadows, placed away from the head/face and coming from a soft sideways light do not bother me in this case.
