    Default Gator Back...

American Alligator, pattern of scales on back of youngster, Ding Darling NWR, Sanibel, FL

Canon 500mm f/4 L IS lens with the EOS-1D MIII. Drop in circular polarizer at maximum darkness. ISO 400. Evaluative metering +1/3 stop: 1/200 sec. at f/11.

I liked the repeating patterns and the grey water.

    Later and love, artie

    Hey Artie,

I like this one a lot. I would like to see it in B&W but I like it as it is. Very creative.

    Happy New Year!

I think this works really well....a nice and fresh graphic perspective of this gator. I'd be interested to see a B+W with some harder contrast as well....but I like it as it is.

I like the composition and pattern, the mirror-like water puts it over the top.
