    A juvenile Black-fronted Dotterel photographed on a muddy waterhole at Chiltern in north-eastern Victoria.

    Canon 40D, 500IS + 1.4tc, blubb on boogie board, ISO400 + neat image, f/6.3, 1/160, ec -1/3, tilt corrected, slightly cropped and a couple of white feathers on waters edge removed.

    Great use of DOF, details and BG. I would have preferred a slightly higher point of view to be able to see the legs. The whites have a slight blue cast and I might crop a bit off the right.

    Very nice shot Simon, I agree with Axel, excellent DOF. I like the low angle, the colours and detail. The bird stands out nicely against the background. I was thinking maybe a slight crop off the bottom, but after looking at it for some time I think I prefer as is.

    I like the low angle and the detail. Chiltern is a fantastic place.
