"Sometimes the job of providing the necessities falls to the group and not to the one. Reciprocity: it is the general philosopy that what is good for the one is good for the group and vice versa. In essence it is the simple dynamic of group cooperation; the mechanism by which democratic societies benifit; what the Western capitolism is supposed to opperate on: but as we all know that is not the case in recent time. To the Aconrn Woodpecker is is the mechanism that has been in operation at the genetic level for eons. Acorns are a social group and all contribut so that the group survives. Graneries are stocked and guarded. The granery, itself, can be drillings by the woodpekcer; natural cavities; or graneries by the hand of man. A male Acorn has discovered wonderful nooks and crannies to deposit seed it didn't have to work for. For that matter it didtn't have to work for the crannies in the old wagon wheel. Here is an economy of energy in stocking food for the group. Reciprocity: sometimes it happens without design."
